Boston Get Parker

May 08 2008 by Scott Walden - Transfer Updates
Boston United have finally clinched the signing of long-term target Wes Parker, from Blue Square North rivals Gainsborough Trinity.

Parker was set to join Tommy Taylor's squad last pre-season, but Trinity held onto his registration due to his age. The Skegness-based centre-back scored twice against The Pilgrims in league fixtures last season, one of which was the solitary goal of the Boxing Day game at York Street.

Taylor commented: “Wes is a terrific signing. It’s taken time to get him to join us, but I think it’s been worth the wait. Wes has showed this season why we were so keen to sign him and I’m sure he will prove to be a great acquisition."
