Boston United currently play at York Street, a ground situated close to Boston town centre. Home games usually take place on Saturday afternoons, with midweek fixtures scheduled often on Wednesday evenings. Both Saturdays and Wednesdays are market days, so the volume of traffic on a Saturday afternoon is high.
How to get there
By road:
Parking is recommended in the nearby NCP facility, situated off John Adam's Way. JAW is the major through road in Boston, and is often busy. To use the NCP, you should be travelling in a northerly direction up JAW, and the car park is on the left hand side. To get to the away end at York Street from the NCP, you should use the pedestrian crossing over JAW further up the road and then go through the gap in the wall onto Spayne Road. The turnstiles on the left 100 yards down are the away turnstiles.
By rail:
The nearest station is Boston, and is located across town from York Street. Once out of the station, you should go down Station Street which leads onto Lincoln Lane. At the end of Lincoln Lane is the local police station, which you should walk through their car park and over a footbridge over the river Haven. You should then come to the Boston Standard offices, and turn right onto the cobbled street Fish Hill. The Britannia public house is along this street, and you should also cross over the pedestrian crossing and then over the amrket place to where Boots chemist is situated. Near Boots is an alleyway called Craythorne Lane, which leads out onto John Adams Way and a pedestrian crossing. You should use this and then walk towards the ground down Spayne Road. The first turnstiles to your left are the away supporter's turnstiles.
By bus:
The nearest bus station is located close to the railway station, where you can cross the large car park adjacent and past the police station as above.
There are also buses running into the market place, where the main drop off is outside Boots (also see above).
Local public houses:
The Sports Bar on the York Street car park is a friendly matchday pub, which has all major football matches and other sporting events available on a big screen. There is also a pool table, but this is often crowded on matchdays. Entertainment is usually provided on Saturday evenings, from around 8pm. Popular lagers and ales are served.
The Coach and Horses is situated a few minutes walk from the ground, on Main Ridge East. It is a Bateman's public house and serves local real ales brewed in Wainfleet.
In the town centre, recommended pubs are The Britannia, The Ship Tavern, The Boston Still and Prospect. All are located just off the market place, within walking distance of York Street.
Other information:
Away supporters are located in the Town End terrace, which has a capacity of 2050. Ticket prices for 2007/8 are Adults £12, OAPs £9 and Under 16s £6. The terrace is regarded as the best stand in the ground, and provides great acoustics for you to get behind your team. Matchday programmes are available near the away turnstiles, and are priced at £2.50.
